The release of orgasmic energy after ejaculation no doubt feels ecstatic. But it comes at a huge cost.
Do you feel like rolling over and going to sleep after sex?
Do you find yourself feeling low in energy in general life but don’t know why?
Do you want to know the secrets behind the ancient and rarely discussed techniques of ejaculation control?
Sublimation of sexual energy through ejaculation control is not widely talked about. Ejaculation and orgasm are two different forces, though they have been grouped together. You can learn to orgasm and not ejaculate. In so doing, you keep the vital sexual energy inside your body.
Ejaculation control is important and how to do it should be freely available to anyone who’s curious. I will remove the esoteric language and simplify the concepts behind the often-misunderstood subject of ejaculation control.
Conservation of Energy
In the East, sexual energy is known as virya (in yogic philosophy) or ching (by the Taoists.) You are said to be born with a certain amount of sexual energy. Sexual energy cannot be replaced once exhausted. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
When you feel sexually aroused, this is your sexual energy expanding at a phenomenally powerful rate.
The ejaculation of your semen depletes your system of this vital energy. This energy could be directed to other activities. As Napoleon Hill stated in his book Think and Grow Rich:
“When harnessed and redirected along other lines, this motivating force (sex) maintains all of its attributes of keenness of imagination, courage, etc. which may be used as powerful creative forces in literature, art, or in any other profession or calling, including, of course, the accumulation of riches.” — Napoleon Hill
The loss of sexual energy weakens your physical health and overall mood.
You look to artificial means to replace this loss in energy, such as the use of coffee, vitamins, aphrodisiacs, alcohol, or sugary food stuff. Such external stimulates only temporarily increase your energy level. Then, you crash and become more exhausted than ever.
Heightened Sexual Pleasure
Stopping ejaculation is not to be confused with stopping orgasm. You still orgasm but there is no loss of seminal fluid during orgasm.
This can be done by moving the sexual energy that is stuck around the groin area.
Moving the sexual energy from around the groin area also assists in increased pleasure throughout the body. It will stop you from feeling sexually frustrated from not ejaculating.
How to Practice Ejaculation Control
If you want to learn not to lose your semen while you have an orgasm, you need a great deal of patience and time.
These methods have predominately come from India and China.
There are internal and external methods you can use to meet this end.
Internal practices will allow you to retain bodily secretions which are a source of incomparable energy when stored. These are then recirculated to higher vital centers in the body.
The practices below are drawn from Yoga, Taoism, and modern-day Neo-Tantrics. They all involve using your awareness, breath, and physical movements.
Hatha Yoga and Pranayama
In the Vedic Hindu philosophy, there is a circular pattern that plays out in your mind regarding the arousal of sexual desire and its associated energy.
There is a deep innate tendency (vasana) for sexual pleasure or for procreation. As this tendency surfaces to the conscious mind, it takes the form of thought (vritti). When acted out indiscriminatingly, it reinforces and strengthens the deep innate tendency. And so the cycle plays out. Memory and imagination play their part in fueling this cycle.
The issue with acting it out is that you have no conscious choice over how to act. You are consumed by your sexual energy. As such, you have no choice but to ejaculate and lose all your vital energy.
Falling of semen brings death; preservation of semen gives life. Semen is the real vitality in men. It is the hidden treasure in man. It imparts the brightest happiness to the face and strength to the intellect. - Gheranda Samhita
Methods of practice
Discrimination (viveka). When a thought regarding sex arises, you can acknowledge it immediately. Then think of something other than sex. It’s allowing the mind to experience one sexual thought after another that generates sexual energy. The swamis (Indian monks) employ the use of a mantra. This is short phrase that is continually repeated.
Food. The purity of food plays a very important role in retaining your sexual energy. In that, food has an effect on the mind.
In Sanskrit, the healthy regulation of what you eat is called mitahara.
Foods that can support a healthy practice are organic plant-based consumables.
Spices, onions, garlic, alcohol, and salt are to be avoided.
Pranayama is the regulation of energy in the body via the use of the lungs and breathing. Two pranayamas of note are: nadi sodhana and bhastrika
Refer to Light on Pranayam by B. K. S. Iyengar.
Yoga asana. Inverted yoga postures (asanas in Sanskrit) assist in moving the sexual energy from the lower half of the body. These include headstand and shoulder stand.
These types of asanas should only be practiced if you already have a strong yoga practice.
Uddiyana Bandha. With a strong exhalation, empty the lungs. Draw the navel towards the back of the spine. Then draw the navel up towards the diaphragm.
If you are a novice, this is best practiced in a standing position.
For extra support to this practice:
· allow your tongue to light touch the top of the palate directly behind your teeth
· contract your perineum (not the anus). This is called mula bandha.
· bring the chin down firmly onto the chest. This is called jalandhara Bandha.
Refer to a book by Swami Satyananda called Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha.
Brahmacharya. The strict interpretation is abstinence of sex. In practice, for the average person, this means moderate sexual contact with your partner.
The theory behind this is that through regulated and conscious contact, you can regulate your sexual activity. That lets you avoid indiscriminately wasting your sexual energy.
The focus is on the elimination of lust but not suppression of sexual energy. Suppression leads to a build-up of frustration on an unconscious level. That will in turn come out in unhealthy behaviours.
While living in ashrams in India, I saw this first-hand in men that had been living in ashrams for years. Unable to assimilate their sexual energy, they would make inappropriate comments to women.
Sexual energy is to be diverted so it can be used for contemplation and spiritual pursuits such as meditation. An adept is called an Oordhvareta Yogi. Their seminal energy has gone up into the brain. This takes many years of training.
Taoists Methods
“There is no medicine, or food, and no spiritual salvation that can
— P’ENG TSU, PHYSICIAN TO THE EMPEROR
prolong a man’s life if he fails to understand or practice the harmony of sexual energy.”
The Taoist methods involve drawing the sexual energy stored around the groin and moving it up the spinal column and into the brain. Your sexual energy will then come down the front into the throat, heart, and navel.
Method of practice
Microcosmic orbit. When you breathe in, imagine the sexual energy that is located at the testicles running up your spine then to the top of your head. When you exhale, imagine the sexual energy coming down the front line of the body to your navel. Ensure the tip of the tongue is touching the top of the palate behind the teeth. Continue to cycle in this manner.
Neo-Tantrics
The neo-tantrics have, for the most part, adapted techniques that have their roots in the East. They have then modified the methods to suit western practitioners (along with adding a hefty price tag).
Method of practice
Withdrawal. When you feel that you have got aroused too fast during sex and you are about to ejaculate — immediately stop. Withdraw your penis and wait until you feel your energy level has dropped before recommencing sex.
Stop. Exactly the same as an above, but without withdrawing your penis. Simply stop when you feel like you are about to ejaculate. Then recommence having sex when your energy level has dropped.
Breath. If you feel like you are about to ejaculate, hold your breath. This is not a practice I recommend as this will cause a contraction of your sexual energy. On the other hand, it will most likely stop you from ejaculating.
Relaxation. Beware of the sexual energy around the groin, especially between your legs. Holding your focus on this area, tell yourself to relax. Relax your anus and perineum. Immediately, you will feel your sexual energy release from this area.
Resources
There are 3 books in particular that will be very important on your journey. They are:
1. Practice of Brahmacharya by Swami Sivananda — this is document by an Indian Monk that is geared towards monks but has plenty of insights to give to us all.
2. Taoist Secrets of Love Cultivating Male Sexual Energy by Mantak Chia — This book explains Taoist practices for alchemical transmutation of sexual energy. It also explains how to conserve and store sperm in the body.
3. The Multi-Orgasmic Man by Mantak Chia and Douglas Abrams Arava — A simply written book on physical and psychological techniques to separate your orgasm and ejaculation, increase your vitality and become multi-orgasmic.
The above techniques should only be practiced under a qualified teacher.
These practices take time and regular practice.
A lot of what you have learned about sex has been either from hearsay, movies, porn or other misguided sources.
If you are looking to develop and strengthen your spiritual practice, incorporating the practices above is a must.
You will make mistakes along the way. However, keep practicing and doing your own research. Through diligent practice, you will be rewarded with an energetic life.
