Cookie Policy

Effective Date: October 15, 2019

Introduction and Scope

This Cookie Policy (the “Policy”) is designed to assist you in understanding how and why Truly Scaled Limited (“Truly Scaled”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) on our website trulyscaled.com, all of our content-based websites, and any other webpage linking to this Policy (collectively, the “Websites”) to collect and develop data. We use Tracking Technologies to allow our Websites to operate, enhance their functionality and efficiency, analyze how you use them so that we can improve them, tailor the content and information that we display to you, and provide you with targeted advertisements.

To the extent that information collected by the Tracking Technologies constitutes personal data (on its own or if combined with other information), our Privacy Policy shall apply to the processing of such personal data, as defined in the Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that contains information about your browser and online activity. Our Websites may also employ a software technology called clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons) that may, among other things, help us better manage content on our Websites by informing us what content is effective. Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Website users. We may also use local shared objects (a.k.a. “flash cookies”), pixels, tags, or other similar technologies. All of these tracking technologies are collectively referred to as “Tracking Technologies” in this Policy.

Opting Out

You can alter the configuration of your browser to reject certain types of Tracking Technologies. Note, if you reject certain cookies, you may not be able to access and use all of the features on our Websites. You may also set your browser to send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. For more information, please visit https://www.aboutcookies.org/ and https://allaboutdnt.com/. Please note that our Websites do not have the capability to respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from web browsers.

You may also control your online behavioral advertising preferences and opt out from having your data processed by certain marketing companies by visiting https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ and http://optout.aboutads.info/. Please note that managing these preferences will not turn off internet advertisements in general. You will receive the same amount of advertisements, but it will be less reflective of your interests, as based on your web browsing habits. The opt-out preferences that you set may be nullified if you delete your cookies.

Types of Cookies

We use both session and persistent cookies. Session cookies are deleted or removed when you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be retained after you close your browser but have an expiration date.

Some of the cookies placed on your device through our Websites are first-party cookies, since they are placed directly by us. Other parties, such as ad exchanges, data aggregators or suppliers, or demand-side platforms, may also set their own (third-party) cookies through our Websites. These third parties may include Google Ad Exchange, Amazon Ads, Verizon Media, and others. For a full list of the third-party data controllers or joint controllers that we contract with, please contact us as described below. Please refer to the privacy policies of these third parties to learn more about the way in which they collect and process information about you.

How We Use Tracking Technologies on our Websites

Strictly Necessary Tracking Technologies

These Tracking Technologies are necessary for our Websites to function and cannot be turned off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take which amount to a request for services, such as setting your preferences, or filling out forms. These Tracking Technologies are generally session cookies. You may be able to set your browser to block or alert you about some of these Tracking Technologies. However, if you block these Tracking Technologies some parts of our Websites will not work.

Performance Tracking Technologies

These Tracking Technologies allow us, among other things, to count Website visits and identify traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Websites. They help us to know which pages are the most – and least – popular, and understand how you navigate around the Websites. These Tracking Technologies may include both session and persistent cookies. If you do not allow these Tracking Technologies, we may not know when you have visited our Websites and we will not be able to monitor how our Websites performed during your visit.

Functional Tracking Technologies

These Tracking Technologies enable the Websites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. This may include processes like automatically adjusting to a user’s screen size or reformatting the Websites so they are displayed correctly on your device.

These Tracking Technologies are usually session cookies. They may be used by us or by third-party providers whose services we have integrated into our Websites. If you do not allow these Tracking Technologies, then some or all of these third-party services may not function properly.

Targeting Tracking Technologies

These Tracking Technologies may be used on our Websites by our advertising partners (or set directly by our advertising partners). They record your visits to our Websites, the pages you have visited, the ads you have viewed, and the links you have followed. They are used by our advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on our Websites as well as other websites. These are generally persistent cookies. If you do not allow these Tracking Technologies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Changes to this Policy

If we make any material change to this Policy, we will post the revised Policy to our Websites and update the “Effective Date” above to reflect the date on which the new Policy became effective.
