Lecturer; Researcher at the Clinic of Neurosurgery; Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Vladimir Puzovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. He graduated from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Prishtina in 2009 summa cum laude.

In 2017 he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Kragujevac, in the field of Experimental and Applied Physiology with Sports Medicine and Applied Neuroscience, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Lucas Rasulic, one of the world leaders in the field of peripheral nerve injuries. As part of his Ph.D. project from 2013 to 2015, he did research and scientific training at the Clinic for Neurosurgery, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade.

In addition to this project, in 2013-2014, he worked on a scientific research project in collaboration with the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, in the field of respiratory physiology in athletes.

He is a member of the European College of Sports Sciences, the Association for Sports Medicine of Serbia and the Society for Neuroscience of Serbia.

Coaching Career

After a successful coaching career with some of Belgrade’s best basketball clubs, he continued his career as one of the 2 head coaches in the “Vuveluda” team, where he worked with over 100 top level and talented athletes.

Since 2011, he has been training athletes independently, preparing a number of top athletes (Euroleague basketball players, WNBA players, National team players in basketball, football, handball, track and field).

In 2017 he won the Women Euroleague without a single defeat with the women’s basketball team “Dynamo” Kursk from Russia. In addition, he was the coordinator and strength and conditioning coach for several other teams and Head Conditioning Coach on several basketball camps.

Scientific Work

He is the author of 10 scientific papers on the JSR list, 3 scientific papers in international scientific journals, 2 book chapters, and over 30 conference proceedings.

He has been lecturing at conferences and seminars in Belgrade and Novi Sad (Serbia), Viena (Austria), Bruges (Belgium), Turku (Finland), Bratislava (Slovakia), Strasbourg (France), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Sofia (Bulgaria), Malmo (Sweden), St. Petersburg (Russia), Istanbul (Turkey), only to name a few.
